MEET SCOTTY

Scotty Jacobs is the Director of Blueprint for a Better San Francisco, a project of Neighbors for a Better San Francisco. Blueprint is the largest political organization in San Francisco with an email list that can reach nearly one in six San Franciscans. Focused on ensuring that San Francisco puts pragmatism in front of ideology, Blueprint is one of the eminent organizations advocating for a better San Francisco.

A fourth-generation resident of San Francisco, Scotty became involved in local politics after seeing how radical ideology was leading the city he loves down a damaging path. Fed up with the lack of comprehensive response to the addiction and mental health crises, the pandemic impacts on the local economy, and a lack of vision for San Francisco, Scotty ran for District 5 Supervisor in November 2024. Through a successful rank-choice voting alliance, Scotty and the eventual winner (Bilal Mahmood) commandingly defeated an incumbent Democratic Socialist.

Before entering San Francisco politics, Scotty spent his career leading small and large lines of business in the consumer packaged goods industry, at brands including Kinder’s, Grove Collaborative, EO Products, and Aura Bora.

Scotty lives in NOPA and serves on the Board of Alice B. Toklas LGBTQ Democratic Club. In his free time, he can be found spending his weekends playing with his friends’ kids, teaching cycling classes, and catching a set at his favorite venues.
